Asbestos Annual Notification

| Milaca Public Schools has on file a complete and updated Management Plan for dealing with asbestos-containing materials within the school district’s buildings. The Management Plan is available for viewing by interested parties, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the District Office located at 500 Hwy. 23 W., Milaca, MN or at the principal’s office at the respective school sites. Milaca Elementary School has some asbestos-containing materials including: assumed asbestos-containing floor tile throughout the building, thermal system insulation throughout the building and fire doors. Milaca High School has some asbestos-containing materials including: pipe fittings and insulation throughout the building, thermal system insulation in the boiler room, assumed asbestos-containing floor tile throughout parts of the building and assumed asbestos-containing material on the stage lighting wires. As required by federal law, the condition of asbestos in our schools is surveyed every six months as part of an ongoing operations and maintenance program. The asbestos is re-inspected every three years by a certified inspector. The most recent three-year inspection was completed in April 2022.
