Practice Test in Reading
Take the Texas practice state test in reading. The test covers the same skills and concepts as the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA). If you find you are getting the same types of questions wrong, try to figure out why. Most of the time, it is because you need to read the question again and then ALL the answers. Most of the time two answers MIGHT be right. One of them is usually a "distractor" which means it has part of the correct answer in it, but is not the entirely correct answer. Go back and prove your choices in the passage! Take your time!!!! |

Practice Test in Math
Take the Texas state test in math and see how you do. Their state test (TAKS) is very similar to our MCA. If you find you aren't as sure of the answers in one or more areas- for instance, you really struggle with the questions about fractions- let your teacher know so I can help you figure out how to understand it better. |
