Parents and Guardians -
Thank you for your patience as we continue to develop plans in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. At this time, we know Minnesota schools will be closed through March 27, to allow staff to develop a distance learning plan. Education will continue on March 30, via classroom or distance learning, as directed by the Minnesota Department of Education.
Yesterday, the meals and health care/emergency worker child care details were released. As explained in that communication, meals and child care were originally planned for only today and tomorrow (March 19), as these days were scheduled as regular school days. After further consideration to the well being of our students and families, child care and meals will also be available on Friday, March 20. There is no charge for the meals or the health care/emergency worker child care.
Students and/or their parents may pick up meals from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Milaca High School Cafeteria doors. Meals are available to children 18 years old and younger and are at no cost. The meals are distributed in a drive up, curbside manner. Meals include lunch for the day and breakfast for the following morning.
Child care is being provided to district school-aged students, grades PreK-6, who are children of health care/emergency workers. There is no charge for this care. These parents have access to care 6:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. on March 18-20. Earlier in the week, a survey was sent to identify the families who qualify for the health care/emergency worker child care. Please call Nikki Tellefson (320-982-7279) if you are one of these workers and were not able to complete the survey.
