Milaca Preschool has a 4-star rating from Parent Aware; an independent nonprofit organization of Minnesota business and community leaders using private sector strategies to improve school readiness. A 4-star rating is an indicator a program is uisng the best practices to prepare children for kindergarten. We are conveniently located in the Elementary School and offer before or after school care as well as transportation. Creative Curriculum Focusing on how children learn individually, teachers use their learning environments to help development in the areas of social-emotional, cognitive, math, literacy, and language. EZ Write Handwriting Curriculum There are eight basic strokes that are taught to form letters and numbers. This is the same handwriting curriculum that our elementary building uses, which allows for continued handwriting growth through the years. Minnesota Reading Corps Minnesota Reading Corps tutors work within the classroom where specific reading skills are assess and taught throughout the year. They help build one-on-one and small group activities for all students to help reading success. Parent Aware Rated Program Milaca School Readiness program received a four-star rating by Parent Aware, a Minnesota rating tool for selecting high quality childcare and early childhood education programs. Pathway II scholarships are awarded to families through the eligible Four-Star Parent Aware Rated program.
