Troy graduated from Milaca High School in 1988. While in high school, Troy was
involved in Student Council, football, wrestling, baseball, and Swing Choir.
Troy has been involved in professional baseball since 1988 having been drafted by the
Minnesota Twins as a high school student. He played 3 seasons in the Minnesota
Twins Organization and was the first member to finish college on the Major League
Scholarship Plan. Troy graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/Marketing
Management in 1995 and has been in professional scouting since 1995. Troy attended
the MLSB Scout School training program in Lakeland, Florida in 1997 and was
sponsored by the Minnesota Twins organization. At Scout School training, he attended
games and evaluated players and reports during Instructional League and local
baseball programs.
Troy has played, interned, recorded pitches, and scouted with the following major
league baseball teams; the Minnesota Twins, Baltimore Orioles, Houston Astros, and
San Diego Padres. He has signed Top 10 prospects for each team he has scouted
with; the Baltimore Orioles, Houston Astros, and San Diego Padres. In addition, he has
been recognized as Scout of the Year for Chicago Pitch and Hit and the Illinois High
School Baseball Coaches Association. Troy has signed eight players for the San Diego
Padres who have reached Major League Baseball status, three of these players are
from Division III colleges. Troy has also drafted 13 Major League players. He has
participated in and completed the Chicago marathon.
Troy currently coordinates and evaluates a 7 state area in the Upper Midwest (Iowa,
Illinois, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Minnesota, and Wisconsin) for the San Diego Padres
as an Area Supervisor.
Troy enjoys yoga, music, walks with his wife, Heidi, and watching baseball.
