Marian E. (Hansen) Majerle
Hansen loved to compete in sports but because girls programs were not available when she was in school she often competed informally in boys programs at Milaca. She graduated from Milaca High School in 1948 and from St. Cloud Teachers College in 1953. She competed in several sports in college, earning the nickname “Crusher.” Marian nearly accomplished a historic swim across Lake Mille Lacs in 1953, and she remained active on many local sports teams until retiring from softball at the age of 65. She taught high school physical education/health for several years and was active in the Milaca community as a lifeguard and supervisor. Marian married Rudy Majerle in 1964.
