Paul A. Olson
Olson was an outstanding football player at Milaca High School, graduating in 1928. He received a scholarship to Drake University in Iowa and where he played football, competing against national teams such as Notre Dame. He returned to Milaca to become manager of the dry goods department of the Alfred Olson Co., general store, a business his father, Alfred, founded. He managed the store until his death in 1997. The store became a landmark in the Milaca Community. Olson served in the Navy during World War II and was Company Commander for the Milaca National Guard Tank Company, which was activated for the Korean War. Paul was president of the Milaca Chamber of Commerce and served as Mayor of Milaca.
