Course Description: Applied Economics is a basic course in consumer economics. Practical application of economics to a person's life at home and work is the object of the course. Some of the topics to be covered are setting prices, budgeting, saving, investing in stocks, and buying goods and services. A short application of income taxes and government's role in the economy will be presented along with current news, financial and economic systems, and international business.
